It Was All Good Until It Wasn’t
Kehlani - Atlantic
Judging from the current state of everything, it's quite fitting Kehlani named this album It Was Good Until It Wasn't. It's almost as if it was perfectly crafted to evoke the emotions of the ones who long for companionship, closeness and warmth within this time of physical and emotional distance. What made this album as infectious, is the recurrent ideas and themes that are seen in some of earlier that seems to intrigue and allow listeners like myself to fantasize rather than to be bored and uninterested. She still maintains the youthful and fresh vibe in songs like Water and Hate the Club but also still finds time to dive into in introspection with Grieving and Lexii's Outro. Sonically, it seems to be clear that she has identified what sound shes most comfortable with. That dreamy R&B sound that automatically insures that the genre is in good hands. This seems to be the most confident she has sounded on album, as she said with Apple music "this might be my favorite project I've ever put out."

I’ve reached a point, it’s like I beg for it
I give my sweat and tears, damn, I bled for it”
